In Enfield we are very fortunate to have many organisations who strive to provide support for those who need it. We are very grateful to the volunteers and people who help to run things that will help our community.

Mayor of London
Further to the above, the Mayor of London set up a Cost of Living Hub which contains useful information about benefits, grants and discounts you can get if you’re in financial difficulty, from the Mayor of London, the government, your local council, charities and advice centres. The information might be relevant for you, or you might want to share it with someone you know. To access the hub, please visit Mayor of London cost of living
Warmer Homes Programme - I have also been made aware of grants available from the Mayor of London’s Warmer Homes programme.
I am informed, data indicates that Enfield is amongst the boroughs with the highest proportion of residents eligible. They think that around 9,600 households in Enfield could be eligible for the scheme which will make grants of between £5,000 to £25,000 available to low-income households to make homes warmer, greener and cheaper to run.
Should residents approach community groups about the help available, I would be grateful if this information could be highlighted. I will also be relaying this information through my social media accounts and weekly update.
It is mentioned, funding is available for low-income households living in low energy efficiency homes and includes grants available for measures like: ·
As part of the programme, Warmer Homes Advice Service is also offered which provides fuel poverty advice and referrals. To find out more about the Warmer Homes programme please visit: Warmer Homes

North Enfield Foodbank can help with providing food parcels.
A typical food parcel contains a minimum of three days of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable, tinned and dried foods that have been donated by the local community. A typical food parcel includes: breakfast cereal, soup, pasta, rice, pasta sauce, baked beans, tinned meat, tinned vegetables, instant mash, UHT milk, tea, coffee, sugar, tinned desserts, biscuits and toiletries.
The foodbank can usually offer some fresh items such as fruit and vegetables and bread as part of a parcel, depending upon availability.

With the increasing cost of fuel bills, you may be aware that several churches in the area are inviting local people into their halls as a warm space to come and meet others, have a hot drink, use the wifi, share company and play games.
St Paul’s Winchmore Hill is offering this from 2-5pm on Tuesdays, everyone is welcome. Turn your heating off and come and use ours! The hall is already heated for the nursery in the morning.
